The most common transfer is a photo, screenshot, or short video that needs to go from a phone to a laptop (or the other way around). With a cable you have to find the cable. Here the flow is the same in every direction: upload on the sending device, get a 5-character code, type that code on the receiving device, and the file downloads with its original filename. How do I share a file between my phone and laptop?

What file types are supported?
We support PNG, JPEG, WebP, MP4, and WebM. Standard images are re-encoded from raw pixels for security. In Private file mode the contents are encrypted in your browser and are not re-encoded. SVG files are explicitly rejected.
What is the maximum file size?
Files can be up to 10 MB. If your file is larger, try compressing it before sharing.
How long does a file stay on the server?
Standard files are available until the first download or until their timer ends. Private files are deleted after download and decryption acknowledgement, or when the timer ends. The sender chooses 10 minutes, 30 minutes or 1 hour on the free plan (up to 30 days with Pro). After that, the file and its metadata are permanently deleted.
Are files scanned for malware?
Standard uploads are scanned with ClamAV antivirus before becoming available for download; files that fail the scan are rejected and deleted. Private file mode is end-to-end encrypted, so the contents cannot be scanned. Only open encrypted files from people you trust.
Are files end-to-end encrypted?
You choose. Standard uploads are encrypted in transit and scanned before serving. Turn on “Encrypt files” and your browser encrypts the contents with AES-256-GCM before upload; the key stays in the link after the # and never reaches us. File names, types, sizes, and folder paths remain visible, and encrypted contents cannot be virus-scanned. Private file links must be opened in full — the 5-character code alone will not work.
Can I download the same file more than once?
No. File codes are single-use. After the first successful download, the file and its code are permanently deleted. Ask the sender to generate a new code if you need the file again.
Is this really free?
Yes. The free plan needs no account and no subscription — files up to 10 MB in common image and video formats. An optional Pro plan raises that to 100 MB, accepts any non-executable file type, and adds API/MCP access for text shares.
