Step-by-Step: Phone to Laptop

Open TextShareNow on your phone — No app needed — just open textsharenow.com in any mobile browser.

Go to the Send tab — Tap the "Send Text" tab at the top of the tool.

Paste or type your content — Paste the link, note, or text you want to transfer. Up to 10,000 characters.

Tap Generate Code — A unique 5-character code and a shareable link appear (e.g. Z7K4P) — you choose the expiry: 10 minutes, 30 minutes or 1 hour, or up to 30 days with Pro.

Open the site on your laptop — Go to textsharenow.com in your laptop browser.

Go to the Receive tab and enter the code — Type the 5-character code and click Retrieve. Your text appears instantly.

Go to Receive and type the code — Enter the code — the text appears and is automatically copied to your clipboard.
How to Share Files Between Devices

Open TextShareNow and switch to the Share Files tab — Click "Share Files" at the top of the tool on your sending device.

Select Send File — Drag and drop a file or click to browse. Accepted types: PNG, JPEG, WebP, MP4, WebM (max 10 MB).

Upload and get your code — The file is uploaded, a 5-character code is generated, and you choose the expiry: 10 min to 30 days (Pro). Standard uploads are scanned for malware; Private file mode encrypts contents in your browser instead.

Open Share Files on the receiving device — Switch to the Share Files tab on the other device.

Select Receive File and enter the code — Type the code and click Download. The file downloads directly to your device with the correct filename.

Share Files Between Devices: Photos, Screenshots, Short Videos
The file flow works the same way: upload on one device, get a 5-character code, type it on the other device, download. Files are single-use, standard uploads are scanned for malware (Private file mode is browser-encrypted and cannot be scanned), and files are deleted after the first download (or decryption acknowledgement in Private mode) or when their timer ends — 10 minutes, 30 minutes or 1 hour on the free plan, up to 30 days with Pro. How do I transfer text from my phone to my laptop without a cable?
Open TextShareNow on your phone, paste your text into the Send tab, and tap Generate Code. A short 5-character code appears. On your laptop, open the same website, go to the Receive tab, type the code, and your text shows up instantly — no cable, no app, no sign-up.
Is the shared text stored on your servers?
Only temporarily and encrypted at rest. Your text is deleted when its read limit or timer is reached — 10 minutes to 30 days, or never if the sender chooses on Pro. Private-mode text is encrypted in the browser, so we store ciphertext we cannot read. We do not log, sell, or retain content after deletion.
Do I need to create an account to use TextShareNow?
No. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, and no email addresses required. The tool is completely anonymous and works the moment you open it in any browser.
Does it work across different Wi-Fi networks or mobile data?
Yes. Unlike tools that require the same Wi-Fi network, TextShareNow works across any internet connection — mobile data, home broadband, office Wi-Fi, or public hotspots.
Can the same code be used multiple times?
By default, no — each code is single-use and the content is permanently deleted after the first read. Pro can allow 5 or 10 reads, or unlimited reads until the timer ends.
Is my text encrypted?
Yes. Every share is encrypted in transit and at rest. Toggle “Encrypt Now” for zero-knowledge mode: your browser encrypts the text with AES-256-GCM and the key stays in the link — our server cannot read it. Private shares must be opened with the full link, not just the code.
Are file uploads encrypted?
You choose. Standard uploads are encrypted in transit and scanned for malware before serving. Turn on “Encrypt files” and your browser encrypts the contents with AES-256-GCM; the key stays in the link and never reaches our server. File names, types, sizes, and folder paths remain visible, and encrypted contents cannot be virus-scanned. Private file links must be opened in full — the 5-character code alone will not work.
What is the maximum text size I can share?
You can share up to 10,000 characters per transfer — enough for most URLs, notes, code snippets, and short messages.
